MENTOR and local Programs talk with The Vermont Conversation

February 14, 2022 MENTOR Vermont, News

This month, MENTOR Vermont joined VTDigger’s podcast The Vermont Conversation with David Goodman, along with other mentoring programs to discuss the impact Covid-19 has had on our youth, and the importance mentoring has in the State of Vermont and across the nation. MENTOR Vermont’s Executive Director Chad Butt joins Kimberley Diemond (Big Brothers Big Sisters Vermont), Beth Wallace (Everybody Wins! Vermont), Kim Smith (Girls/Boyz First Mentoring), and Pam Quinn (Twinfield Together) to talk about mentorship and different challenges mentoring programs face. We also hear from a mentoring match, and the power a mentoring relationship has had in their lives!

“National data shows that 1 in 3 youth are going to grow up without a caring adult in their lives outside their immediate family that they can turn to for support and that’s really where the  mentoring programs in the state come in; to try and meet that need.” – Chad Butt
